Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 8, 2026  ·  VeraHone LLC  ·  Questions: hello@verahone.com

This Privacy Policy explains what information VeraHone collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. VeraHone is operated by VeraHone LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company.

1. What We Collect

Strava Data

When you connect your Strava account, VeraHone receives an OAuth access token and the activity data you authorize — including ride and workout records, GPS streams, power, heart rate, pace, and activity metadata. We use this data solely to generate your performance reports.

Account Information

VeraHone uses Clerk for authentication. When you create an account, Clerk collects your name, email address, and authentication credentials. VeraHone stores minimal metadata in your Clerk profile, including your language preference, subscription status, and disclaimer acceptance record.

Subscription and Billing

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. VeraHone does not store your credit card number or full payment details. Stripe provides VeraHone with subscription status and anonymized billing metadata only.

Usage Data

We may collect standard server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security monitoring and service improvement and is not sold or shared with third parties.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

Photos and videos you upload within VeraHone — for example, to generate a ride recap poster — are processed entirely on your device using your browser. They are never transmitted to or stored on VeraHone servers. No copy of your photo or video is ever seen by VeraHone.

We do not collect biometric identifiers, precise real-time location outside of Strava activity streams, financial account numbers, or government-issued identification.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Generate your personal performance reports and grades
  • Deliver your requested outputs (reports, recap content, readiness scores)
  • Send transactional emails such as welcome messages and disclaimer confirmations
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the VeraHone service
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell it to third parties, and do not post on your behalf.

4. User-Generated Content

When you voluntarily submit text within VeraHone, that text is used only to fulfill your specific request and is not retained beyond what is necessary to generate the requested output.

Photos and videos you upload for content generation (such as hero posters) are processed entirely client-side on your device. VeraHone never transmits, stores, or retains any user-uploaded image or video file. Generated outputs incorporating your photo are created in your browser and delivered directly to your device's share sheet or download — VeraHone servers are not involved in that process.

Generated outputs may include VeraHone branding. By choosing to share or distribute a VeraHone-generated output, you consent to the distribution of that branded content. You retain full ownership of your original photos and videos.

5. Third-Party Services

VeraHone integrates with the following third-party services. Each governs your data under its own privacy policy:

StravaActivity data source via OAuth. Strava’s privacy policy governs data held on their platform. Privacy policy ↗

Authentication providerManages user accounts, login sessions, and authentication credentials on our behalf.
Transactional email providerDelivers system emails such as welcome messages and terms acceptance confirmations.
Cloud hosting providerHosts and serves the VeraHone application. Your data may be processed on servers located in the United States.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Ride and activity data retrieved from Strava is retained for as long as your account is active, or as necessary to provide the service. Disclaimer acceptance records and timestamps are retained indefinitely as required for legal compliance.

To request deletion of your data, email hello@verahone.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will process your request within 30 days. Deleting your account through Strava's OAuth revocation will prevent VeraHone from accessing new activity data but will not automatically delete previously retrieved records — please contact us directly if you want your stored data removed.

7. Your Rights

EU / EEA Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request erasure of your data; object to or restrict processing; and request data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@verahone.com. Our lawful basis for processing your ride data is performance of a contract (providing the service you requested). Our lawful basis for processing photos you submit is your explicit consent at the point of upload.

California Users (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request deletion of their personal information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. VeraHone does not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@verahone.com.

All Users

Regardless of location, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at any time. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

VeraHone is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Use of the service requires a Strava account, which itself requires users to be at least 13 years of age. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@verahone.com and we will delete it promptly. Features involving user-generated content (such as photo uploads) require users to be at least 18.

9. Cookies and Tracking

VeraHone uses cookies and similar technologies solely for authentication session management (via Clerk) and to remember your preferences such as language selection. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or analytics that sell your data to third parties.

You may configure your browser to reject cookies, but doing so may prevent you from logging in to VeraHone.

10. International Data Transfers

VeraHone is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using VeraHone, you consent to this transfer. Where required by law (such as GDPR), we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

11. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), OAuth-based authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but commit to promptly notifying affected users in the event of a data breach as required by applicable law.

12. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States. For EU/EEA users, applicable GDPR provisions and local consumer protection laws take precedence where required.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by requiring re-acceptance of our updated Terms within the VeraHone app. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
